Decongestive Exercises for Lymphedema with Lisa Berman Sylvestri

Published: 26 September, 2022

Do you or your patients understand the importance of muscle pump activity? This comprehensive webinar provides an overview of this topic along with information about how lymph moves. Speaker Lisa Sylvestri will also detail exercising with lymphedema, making the distinction between cancer-related and non-cancer-related lymphedema.

About our Speaker

Lisa Berman Sylvestri, MSPT, CLT-LANA, has over 20 years of experience as a physical therapist; almost 15 of which are in the lymphedema and oncology arena.

After a family friend got lymphedema because of her breast cancer, Sylvestri researched and learned that this specialty of physical therapy needed more practitioners. She completed two full certification courses and began her focus on lymphedema and oncology patients. She knew she had found her calling after her first patient said, “You were the first and only person who made me feel good during my cancer journey.”

Sylvestri now has advanced certification through the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) and is an expert practitioner with the National Lymphedema Network (NLN). She enjoys teaching other clinicians and patients about the importance of lymphedema education and other oncology rehabilitation topics.

She founded Oasis Physical Therapy and Wellness to create a very specialized environment where all patients with cancer could receive conventional and complementary treatments for both the short and long term.
