Exploding bacteria, grounding mats, Lympha Press “fill to fit” feature, and sciatica… Just when you think they’ve covered every possible topic over the last five years, the Lipedema Patient Roundtable serves up a feast of topics for Thanksgiving month! One of the special guests at the table was Dr. Leslyn Keith, the Director of Research for The Lipedema Project. She offered an overview of some of the most thought-provoking research regarding lipedema in the past year, with insights on inflammation, endotoxins, and the impact of hypermobility on sciatica.
Katie Glynn, CLT-LANA, of Three Bluebirds Therapy and Wellness, is an expert on the topic of conservative therapies to help improve the quality of life for those with lipedema at all stages. From manual lymph drainage to the use of vibration plates, why itching occurs, and listening to your body (and being gentle) were important additions to a rich conversation.
Angelique Charles (@TheLippyButterfly) shared her recent bout of cellulitis, which served as a springboard for the warning signs and to immediately seek medical attention. Pattie Cornute (@LipedemaFitness) added that a small cut from a razor can trigger this dangerous infection, which is why she’s switched to an electric razor.
Toxins, both ingested and also from the products (shampoos, lotions) that seep into our bodies has been a focus of Siouxie Boshoff (@lipedema.living). And Cara Cruz (@PaleGingerPear), whose recent engagement has been a joyful social media highlight, shared that her reduction of sugar and other toxins has reduced her inflammation dramatically. This, combined with her recent tonsillectomy, allowed her to remove her LymphaPants expanders; the “fill to fit” feature of her Lympha Press ensures that her pneumatic compression will continue to work for her changing body.
The protocol of using Lympha Press with a vibration plate was detailed by Jenny Beaujean, and on this “No”-vember, the group focused on saying NO to negativity – and yes to being kind to themselves.
This Thanksgiving season, Lympha Press is especially grateful to our anchor panelists as well as the active “chatters” who make these live events unforgettable.
