Glen Mills, PA – Starting with a one-mile group walk on Tuesday, September 1st, Medical Solutions Supplier will log miles throughout the month of September as part of Alex’s Million Mile, an event organized by the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF).
“September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and we look forward to raising awareness and funds for this worthy cause,” remarked Joseph Carberry, Executive Team Leader. Miles can be logged in any manner – participants can run, walk and/or ride (and even pets can log miles). The MedSol Million Milers will join teams around the world to reach the goal of one million miles.
The Alex’s Million Mile website notes, “A million miles sounds like a crazy goal – some people might think it is unattainable. But Alex showed us that you can reach seemingly unattainable goals.”
Alex is the inspiration behind Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004) was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer, before her first birthday. At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Later, she set a very ambitious goal – $1 million dollars – and with the help of other kids and adults, she reached it!
Upping the ante for Medical Solutions Supplier’s effort is a promise from Carberry that he will pay $1 dollar for every mile that the Medical Solutions Supplier Team logs in September (up to $2000).
