Advanced Pneumatic Compression for Treatment of Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema of the Thorax

In this case series, three breast cancer-related lymphedema patients with significant thoracic pain, swelling, and fibrosis displayed a significant decrease in arm and thoracic swelling after using intermittent pneumatic therapy at home. Treatment occurred over a subsequent 3-4 week period with a Lympha Press half jacket that treated the thorax with direct compression via a dedicated axillary chamber. Final measurements show a carryover of decongestion for up to three days following Lympha Press treatment, as well as reduced pain symptoms.
